Beneath Glassy Surfaces
Swimmers
This collection of work features two large-scale, competitive swimmers preparing to dive into the void. The swimmer’s blue skin hints at the unseen water’s presence, while the black void surrounding him represents the swimmer’s total focus on the task at hand. The collection also includes five paintings on paper existing as explorations in visual space using the bodies of swimmers as subjects.
Poolscapes
This body of work examines mind-scapes within the illusory experienced world. I was interested in examining the action of jumping into a pool and what that action feels like devoid of figures. What is left seems to be a direction of “pool-ness” and the echoes of human action.
